Report on our desk has it that the Nigerian police in Enugu State has on Friday arrested a suspect involved in the attack on Attakwa community of Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. The attack which claimed the live of a Catholic Seminarian and got four others critically injured was carried out on Thursday by the Fulani herdsmen
The police spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu made this known in a statement released on Friday evening.
“Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, in its resolve towards unmasking those behind the dastardly act perpetrated at Ndiagu Attakwu community of Akagbeugwu in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, which left one person dead and four others critically injured, has nabbed a suspect identified as one Umaru Isah from Gusau, Zamfara State, over his alleged involvement in the act.
“His arrest came through intelligence information gathered.
“The said suspect who claimed that he is 20 years old, revealed that he came in from Gusau Zamfara State to Enugu recently for the purpose of rearing cattle but has none to rear till now,” he said.
Ebere Amaraizu also asserted that the Police are currently investigating the incident to fish out his gang members and bring them to justice.
“Meanwhile, investigation has commenced in full scale into his alleged nefarious activities and with a view to unmasking his gang members so that they can be brought to book.
“The State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu, has vowed to unmask those involved in the dastardly act and bring them to book,” he added.
