THE MANY USES OF BITTER LEAF
We are all familiar with the plant called Bitter leaf,but how many of us know how useful it could be in improving our health? bitter leaf was a common plant in almost every household in the years past.We plucked and use it freely as vegetable and medicine.
Bitter leaf has numerous health benefits.
NAMES:Yorubas call it Ewuro,Igbos call it Onugbu and Hausas call it shikawa.
Bitter leaf assists the vital organs of our body like the Liver and the Kidney.Both organs are very vital to our overall health.The liver is the largest internal organ in our body.It weighs betwenn 1-3 kg in the adult.Its major functions are secretion of bile and formation of glycogen.It takes care of the metabolism of fats and protein.

The kidney on the other hand helps to eliminate waste from our body.experts have opined that if the liver and kidney are healthy,the whole human body will function properly.For therapeutic purposes bitter leaf should always be taken fresh in order to optimise its health benefits.The followings are some of the ailments that bitter leaf can alleviate:
DIABETES,GENERAL WEAKNESS,STOMACH ACHE,PROSTATE AND OTHER CANCERS,INSOMNIA,ARTHRITIS ETC

METHOD OF TAKING BITTER LEAF: Squeeze one handful of bitter leaf in one litre of water and take one glass cup 2 or 3 times daily.The effect is wonderful.
Using bitter leaf sounds very simple but there is power in simplicity.
