The crisis of trust rocking the nation’s political space has taken a new turn with the formation of a pressure group, Southern Senators Forum (SSF) by senators from the southern part of the country.
Already, a forum of Northern Senators had been established in the 8th Senate since 2016, headed by Senator Adamu Abdullahi.
Senator Hope Uzodinma has been appointed as the Chairman of the forum while Senator Lanre Tejuoso is to serve as his Deputy.
The formation of the forum was made public 24 hours after a subtle threat of impeachment was issued on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo by the same Senate.
Events at Tuesday plenary where the threat was issued on the Acting President showed that the most vociferous among the Senators who condemned the actions and inactions of the Acting President were mainly from the north….. more details later.
