Ahmed Aliyu Resigns As Sokoto Deputy Governor

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has resigned, Daily Trust reports.
Ahmed is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. He is expected to contest against his former boss Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who is the likely flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the poll.
A source close to Tambuwal said that the deputy governor resigned voluntarily and “we will not hesitate to accept his resignation.”
